Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus to Leave Club After 12 Years
Terzic Hopes for Wembley Champions League Final Send-Off for Dortmund Legend
Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus will leave the club after 12 years at the end of the season, but a Champions League final at Wembley would see his career at the Ruhr valley club come full circle.
A Fitting Finale
"A return to that stadium for this year's final would be a fitting finale for Reus' Dortmund career," said manager Edin Terzic. "It was in his first season at Dortmund that he really made a name for himself, and it would be poetic for him to end his career here with a Champions League title."
Terzic added that it would "close a cycle" for Reus, who has been a key part of Dortmund's success over the past decade. The 34-year-old has won two Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokals, and the DFL-Supercup with the club.
Reus has also been a key player for Germany, earning 48 caps and scoring 15 goals. He was part of the team that won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
